He completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with a minor in Management and then a Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Sean enjoyed an exciting and meaningful career working in leadership roles with entrepreneurial technology firms based out of California’s Silicon Valley before founding Stewardship Colorado as described above.
Sean is very involved in his community and has served as a volunteer firefighter in Evergreen since 1995. Sean can also be seen on winter weekends and holidays in a red jacket as a National Ski Patroller at Winter Park Resort.
The entire Wood family has a real passion for spending time together on whitewater wilderness trips and in 2014 Sean led a private 17-day expedition down the full 277 river miles on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Sean serves as the Board Chair for non-profit Get Outside and Learn Something (GOALS), which aims to make these same transformational experiences available to middle and high school kids from any economic background living anywhere in the United States.
Sean also has a passion to better understand and address third-world poverty and has been to East Africa twice so far, most recently in the fall of 2014 on a trip to the South Sudan. The team conducted a week-long leadership seminar for community leaders in the Western Equitoria capital city of Yambio and there are plans for a continued partnership with Kenyan-based Life In Abundance.
