"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." —Proverbs 31:28-30
This coming month we will be celebrating moms. It can be easy to just pick up some flowers and treat moms to a meal, but if we really thought about the value that moms bring to our lives, there would be nothing we could offer that could even come close to what God has given us in moms.
The worth of moms has been reported to be in the six figures, according to an estimate by salary.com in 2019, her worth is $178, 201. But we know her worth is far beyond that. How can we put a price on what moms contribute to their families and this culture?
And the greater question is, do we value what moms contribute? Moms wear a lot of hats and can end up working the equivalent of 10-20 jobs in the service of their family. Janitor, cook, babysitter, taxi driver, coordinator of schedules, referee . . . you get the point.
But one of the most significant roles moms play is in the character and nurturing they infuse into the hearts of the next generation. When a mom imparts her heart and her faith, she is giving a gift of eternal value to her children . . . love and a relationship with God that last forever.
My executive assistant, Denise Pass, has put together a beautiful way of expressing thanks to moms. In her book, "Mommy and Me: Cooking with Jesus", she and her ministry team offer fun recipes for moms to create with their children, alongside devotions and tips.
This month, honor your mom for the role she has played in your life. Thank her and express how grateful you are for her influence in your life. A mom’s worth is far beyond mention.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms on the frontline waging the war of training up the hearts of the next generation! I am thankful for you!
Yours for Wise Stewardship,
Jeff Rogers

"Oh, Taste and see that the LORD is good! . . ." —Psalm 34:8, ESV.
In our busy culture today, the discipleship of our children has become increasingly difficult. And sometimes we just forget to have fun. In an effort to disciple our children "when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up" (Deuteronomy 6:7), the first in the Mommy & Me series, "Cooking with Jesus", provides an opportunity for moms to have intentional moments of faith in the kitchen with their children.
When walking with Jesus in the abundant life He offers happens in the middle of our messy daily lives, our children see faith in action and catch our faith. As a homeschooling mom for 23 years of five children, four of whom are now young adults, Denise has a passion to help moms connect their faith with their children in their daily life. Bringing to life cherished moments she enjoyed with her children, Denise and her ministry team share key discipleship moments found in the kitchen with their children. Come and create something delicious for their tummy and soul!
