Everyday Gratitude Attitude

Everyday Gratitude Attitude

November 24, 2020

Chances are that Thanksgiving looks different this year for some of us. Some loved ones are separated from one another due to COVID, while others might be facing other difficult challenges. But even if life does not look much different to your family this year, most everyone has been impacted in some way by all that 2020 has thrown our way. The reminder to be grateful in all things is perhaps more poignant this year.

But gratitude does not need a perfect life to rise within our souls.

With all of the turmoil and difficult times 2020 has brought, much remains the same. So as we celebrate Thanksgiving, here are some reminders of just how good we've got it.

We have a God Who is in control

God is in complete control of this weary world. He directs the hearts of kings like a watercourse. (Proverbs 21:1)

We are loved

God loves us. So much so that He died in our place. (John 3:16)

We have the gift of life

The gift of life is precious, whether or not times are hard. (Matthew 6:25)

We have abundant grace

God's grace covers our sins and enables us to live this life. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We have forgiveness

And each day as the sun rises and sets, we realize that His mercies are new again and again. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

As we steward each day we are given, may we make space for gratitude, for it is then that our perspective changes and we are able to rejoice at all times. (2 Corinthians 4:16) It is an everyday gratitude attitude that reminds us of all the blessings we can often take for granted. Each day we experience grace and kindness from God. May we live with awareness of this fact and may God grant us a Thanksgiving to remember as we reflect on God's goodness at all times.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yours For Wise Stewardship,
